The Central Virginia Regional Jail seeks qualified applicants for the position of Jail Officer. We are a Regional Jail Facility which serves the counties of Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, Madison, and Orange. We are responsible for the care and custody of inmates, supervising inmates in all facets of correctional institutional life. Successful applicant must have the ability to enforce institutional rules firmly and fairly; ability to detect potential behavior problems of inmates; ability to detect the early symptoms of common health problems; ability to carry out oral and written directions accurately; ability to supervise the activities of large groups of inmates; ability to prepare records and reports; ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with other employees.   Applicants must be 21 years old, have a high school diploma or GED, pass a background investigation, drug screening, be able to perform essential job functions that are required by a local correctional facility, and be willing to abide by the conditions of employment.

Salary range:

$32,264.00 - $54,134.00
